Here is one I did today, this took 2 hrs of my time to film and another 1.5 hrs to edit  to what you see here. Luckily I had music that is dramatic to go with it, but that alone is another process for another time.

The Rimrock Resort Hotel  has a special place in my heart. I had the pleasure of being part of the opening team back in 1993 when I was in the Hospitality industry. The hotel is a Four Diamond Resort Hotel located in Banff National Park and right by the famous Upper Hot Springs.

The Hotel has always been beautifully kept , with regular renovation to meet the very high standards it holds. The Eden Restaurant is one of only  five  restaurants in Canada to receive the Five diamond award . It is worth a reservation while in Banff.

I was recently asked to create a video to be placed online and shown at the Food & Wine show in May.  Next time in Banff stay  at the Rimrock or stop by and enjoy the restaurants and lounges. Did I mention the views? Watch the video to see what I mean.

This year the event is at the Stewart Creek Gold course and the event is called “Shaken Not Stirred” with a James Bond like theme. Live DJ, Auctions, drinks and lots of fun for all. Facebook – we tend to link many of our posts on to Facebook so you can always come back to our website to read and browse.

Linkedin - mainly allows for business networking and easier for my clients to place a recommendation for my services.

Twitter – used in a variety of discussions for a variety of things that are either business or pleasure which mix nicely.

A new website and name for wedding films that we have been doing for over 10 years has just launched just in time for the Bridal Fair in Calgary.

This website will be  for brides and grooms looking to have their wedding filmed by us. Of course a website is just a launching pad for further consultation and meeting brides and grooms and getting inspired by  how they met and their family stories. Their history will be filmed and shared with family and friends for years to come.

This is a quick Promo showing the event. Many events just need a quick 60 second overview, to capture the attention of your audience. No voice over necessary.  If it looks interesting they will either go and get more info on the website or just go to the trade show.

This past October I went to the Calgary Baby & Tot show to film the show and get vendor and client testimonials. Jennifer James puts on a fantastic show and has a great selection of vendors that come year after year. The BMO centre is the mecca of public trade shows and hosts a variety of them in many categories.

Here is a great example of a vendor talking about why the trade show is a good one for them and why they choose to come and also sponsor the show. More trade shows need to look at this as part of their marketing campaign to both sides vendors and public. It can be short and sweet , but needs to clearly get the message out that this is a show you need to participate in or go to. Nothing beats a video with a vendor  to sell the show to others.

Hopefully many more Trade shows will give us a call to do the same for them

Simply Elegant Events & Catering was doing a launch of Shagannapi GM new showroom in Calgary and asked me to come and film the event. The decor , Live statues, food, drink and entertainment was excellent. Everyone had a great time and it shows in the video.

More companies like Simply Elegant need to have me come to capture their event and show what they do for their clients. It’s a worthwhile investment.

There are days you get to be part of something spectacular and that day was September 5, 2010 for Justin & Min’s wedding in Calgary. That wedding was put together by the very talented and creative team of Lynn Fletcher Weddings based in Calgary but serving their clients everywhere.

Lynn knew this was going to be just an awesome wedding and made sure that the best vendors were on hand to be there. Andras Schram a well know award winning photographer based in Calgary and myself were there photographing and filming the special day. From prep to First dance, we saw it all come together.

The room, decor, table settings and a well know artist Jason Gogo painting a custom painting for the couple, were all captured on video and photos for Min & Justin to remember and is now part of their family history.

When Lynn returned from an ISES Conference for the Espirt & SOE Awards she was thrilled to let us all know that we were now part of an ISES Best Wedding 2011 in the $75 – $200K  budget. (In  my opinion it looked like a Million bucks!)

I was thrilled to be part of this award winning wedding and look forward to many more with Lynn  and her team.

After the first day we had a good base on what we were doing at Andras’s photography seminar and moved to the Hotel Art’s for another photo shoot , this time with a couple.  We played with using a soft  continous light to natural light from the windows. We all had a good time trying to get a couple of good shots and experimenting with it.

The beauty of the Canadian Rockies and the resorts make it hard not to get some of the best shots skiing and snowboarding.
